Based in the Fort Worth area, Tarrant County College is the 6th largest college in Texas, and is one of the 20 largest higher education institutions in the United States with nearly 100,000 students across its 6 campuses. Approximately 1 in every 23 Tarrant County residents takes a class at TCC each year. TCC provides affordable and open access to quality teaching and learning.
This project was a "welcome back to campus" campaign for students across the 7 campuses of the TCC District in north central Texas. TCC leadership continued to put its students first by making it a priority to let students know that they belong and they have a strong support system as they returned to campus during the pandemic.
Our strategy for this design was to be very expressive by incorporating lively and striking elements to draw attention from afar. We designed two murals that incorporated real students in two unique design styles. One was designed to be energetic and the other was designed to be fun but "safe".
The TCC team agreed with us that the typography should be handwritten as it is more personal and conversational.
We just love how these turned out, especially being our first time doing murals! This campaign was so successful that TCC asked for us to turn our design into digital signs, banners, email headers and even t-shirts! We also did a Spanish version.
Our designs are still in use today!
