CreativeMornings is a free, short talk one Friday morning every month. Attendees gather in over 280 cities around the world and online via Virtual FieldTrips to enjoy creative connections, inspiring community, and generous opportunities. Volunteer hosts and their team members organize local chapters that not only celebrate a city’s creative talent, but also promote an open space to connect with like-minded individuals. From design legends to hometown heroes, speakers are selected by each chapter based on a global theme.
In order to introduce themselves to potential local partners, this CreativeMornings chapter needed a digital guide that quickly shows what the sponsorship opportunities are while also instantly giving the energetic feel of this creative community.
Every chapter has its own brand color, and the Dallas chapter color is gray. While a beautiful and strong color, we were very careful in using this color as primary throughout the piece because we felt there was more energy in the combination of the lively colors of the overall brand.
At first glance, we knew that the overlayed images had to go as that is an old design trend. Given the vivacity of this global organization, the first step we planned to take was to search through their database to find a ton of images that could tell their story. If we consider that this piece is coming through the email of a (busy) business owner, we need them to instantly see what CMDAL is all about, feel their energy, and know that they have a huge audience so a partnership with them would be beneficial.
The partnership tiers have the cutest names! We thought, duh, why can’t this be shown in a way that kinda makes you hungry to learn more? LOL! We created an easy-to-follow breakdown of tiers using illustrations because it’s just more fun and this organization is all about that. Overall, this piece does its job successfully of drawing the audience in and giving them an overview of who CMDAL is without being overwhelmed with text and gray imagery.
